Visiting chief justice of China's highest court said judicial cooperation between China and Ukraine is an important component of the bilateral ties.
Wang Shengjun, chief justice of the Supreme People's Court of China, made the remarks during a four-day visit to Ukraine that was intended to boost judicial exchanges and cooperation.
The two sides have in recent years expanded judicial cooperation and strengthened mutual trust and understanding, Wang said during a meeting with Chairman of Ukraine's Supreme Court, Vasyl Onopenko.
Wang expressed the hope that the two sides can join hands to push the judicial cooperation to a new high.
During a separate meeting with Chairman of Ukraine's Constitutional Court, Andriy Stryzhak, Wang said China is dedicated to judicial reforms in an effort to establish a just, efficient and authoritative judicial system.
Meanwhile, China is ready to learn from the judicial systems of other countries, including Ukraine, said Wang.
The Ukrainian justices briefed the Chinese delegation on their country's judicial system, saying the visit will help promote the friendly judicial cooperation between the two countries and contribute to peace, stability and development of both countries.
Wang visited Ukraine from Tuesday to Friday following a tour to Russia.
