A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) pledged Tuesday to bolster party-to-party cooperation with the Party of European Socialists (PES) in a bid to promote the China-Europe comprehensive strategic partnership.

Wang Gang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, hailed the current Sino-Europe cooperation and PES' role in European politics during a meeting with the Party's delegation headed by Adrian Severin, a senior PES leader.

Wang is also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's political advisory body.
