The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) signed an
agreement with a German-Chinese company to cooperate in vocational
training in central China's Henan Province on Tuesday.
According to the agreement, the German-Chinese Electric
Mechanical Technology Limited Company (Henan) and GCCI's office in
Shanghai will jointly construct a training center for technical
workers in the provincial capital of Zhengzhou.
The training center will cost 80 million yuan (US$9.8 million)
and will be completed in October.
The center will use Germany's dual system in vocational
training, a model aimed at training high-level professional
technicians, a source with the German-Chinese company said.
The center will help ease the shortages of technical workers for
Germany's enterprises in China, and attract more investment from
German companies to the province.
