Venezuela, China Sign Agreement on Broadcaster Training
Adjust font size:

Venezuela and China on Tuesday signed an agreement on program exchange and training of television and radio broadcasters each other, the Venezuelan Communications Ministry said in a statement.

Signing the document were Venezuelan Communications Minister William Lara, and Tian Jin, deputy head of China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), at a ceremony held in Caracas.

Under the agreement, Venezuela agrees to broadcast two channels of Central China Television programs in Venezuela and will also have access to China Radio International's programs in a variety of languages.

"Radio, television and cinema are the frontline" of Venezuela's revolution, and the Latin American country needs China's know how to fight on this terrain, Lara said.

Tian said that the cultural and information exchange would boost friendship between the two nations, as radio and television are the easiest ways to get information.

The SARFT delegation led by Tian will leave for Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.
