Adjust font size:

China on Wednesday pledges to further enhance archives exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam.

Wang Gang, alternative member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the pledge in a meeting with a delegation from the State Archives Bureau of Vietnam.

Regarding China and Vietnam as close neighbors with interrelated benefits, Wang said cementing and developing China-Vietnam friendship and cooperation meets the fundamental interests of the two sides.

The work of archives is an important job to record history, carry on civilization, serve society and benefit the humankind, Wang said.

"It also plays an increasingly important role in the construction of the country," he added.

Wang, also member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of General Office of CPC Central Committee, said the two countries have respective characteristics and experience in their work of archives, calling on the two sides to learn from each other.

He hopes relevant departments of the two sides enhance archives exchanges and cooperation, so as to improve the level of the work of archives of both countries.
