The education ministers of the members of the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Wednesday decided to enhance
multilateral and mutual beneficial cooperation in education.
At a meeting held in Beijing, the education ministers agreed to
set up a regular expert team, whose role is to draft documents for
the acknowledgement of education certificates and educational
systems among the member countries.
The ministers decided to hold the next meeting in Kazakhstan in
the autumn of 2008.
The SCO was established in 2001 in Shanghai. Its members include
China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan.
The SCO member countries have conducted cooperation in security,
economic, trade, cultural, military and judicial fields.
