Hong Kong Wednesday signed an agreement with the Netherlands'
government on the arrangement for imported horses to participate in
the Olympic horsemanship contest here in 2008.
Hong Kong's Secretary of Health, Welfare and Food York Chow said
it is part of the preparation for the Olympic horsemanship contest,
which will be held here in 2008. "We will strengthen our
cooperation in the arrangement for horse import and export
procedure with our counterparts of the Netherlands," he said.
Hong Kong government is working closely with the World
Organization for Animal Health, International Equestrian Federation
and the Organizing Committee for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games ever
since Hong Kong was designated to be a place for 2008 Olympic
