A total of 108 Chinese publishers will display their books at the 2008 Frankfurt Book Fair, said the organizer of the Chinese delegation.
More than 5,300 books dealing with subjects like politics, the economy, science, education, Chinese language instruction and ethnic culture will be exhibited at the fair, said the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) on Thursday.
In all, China has about 600 publishing houses, according to GAPP. One sixth of them will be showing books at the fair.
The Frankfurt Book Fair, one of the world's largest book trading events, will be held from Oct. 15-19 in Germany. It draws more than 7,000 publishers and book dealers from more than 100 countries and regions every year.
The Chinese exhibition section will occupy 604 square meters. It will be divided into six parts, including a display area and a negotiation zone.
During the event, the 234-member Chinese delegation plan to organize and attend copyright conferences and dialogues with foreign publishers.
