FM denies rumor of China sending troops to protect torch relay

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang on Saturday denied a rumor which claimed that China proposed to send troops to Australia to protect the Olympic torch relay there.

"It's purely a rumor of ulterior motive," Qin said.
