Adjust font size:

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi extended condolences on Sunday to his Philippine counterpart Alberto Romulo over the deadly typhoon "Fengshen," which sank a ferry ship with more than 800 people on board.

In his message, Yang mourned the victims and extended sympathy to those severely affected by the typhoon which rampaged the archipelagic country this weekend.

"Fengshen," with maximum gusts of 195 kph, has killed at least 155 people and left more than 800 people on the "Princess of Stars", which sank off Sibuyan Island in the central Romblon province early Sunday still missing.
