Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will attend a series of foreign ministers' meetings starting from July 22 in Singapore, the Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.
The meetings are the 10+1 foreign ministers' meeting between China and the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and the 10+3 foreign ministers' meeting between ASEAN plus China, Japan and Republic of Korea.
Other meetings include the foreign ministers' unofficial consultation of the East Asia Summit, and the foreign ministers' meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum, according to spokesman Liu Jianchao at a regular press conference here.
Yang will attend the meetings at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart, George Yeo Yong Boon.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
At the invitation of his Tajikistan counterpart, Khamrokhon Zarifi, Yang will attend the foreign ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at Tajikistan, and pay an official visit to the country, Liu said.
Yang will also make a working visit to the United States as a guest of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Liu announced.
All of Yang's activities will be held from July 22 to 30.
