A new video of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden will soon be
released, the group's media arm said on Monday on the eve of the
sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
As-Sahab, al-Qaida's media arm, made the announcement on Monday
on a website used by Islamist militants.
The website quoted the announcement as saying that "soon, God
willing, testaments of the martyrs of the New York and Washington
conquests."
"Testament of the martyr ... Walid al-Shehri, presented by
Sheikh Osama bin Laden, God preserve him," it added.
On Friday, the website also released a video showing the image
of bin Laden, who was wearing a white robe topped by a beige cloak
and with his beard trimmed and dyed in black.
It was the first video in nearly three years of the world's most
wanted man who has a US$50 million bounty on his head.
