Chinese, German FMs talk over phone

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed Sino-German relations by phone on Friday.

Both sides positively evaluated the bilateral relations and agreed to enhance dialogue and communication. They also committed to build up mutual trust and deepen cooperation to push the bilateral ties moving forward.

Yang hopes German athletes could achieve good performances during the Beijing Olympics and Steinmeier wishes the Games a success.

They also exchanged views on international issues of common concern.
