The Asia-Europe Meeting - Labor and Employment Ministers Conference II (ASEM - LEMC II) to be held in Bali, on October 14 to 15, is scheduled to issue a declaration on improved cooperation in labor matters to develop better vocations, the Antara news agency reported on Saturday.

"If the ASEM-LEMC I produced a chairman's conclusion, in the ASEM-LEMC II, we will issue a declaration," Indonesian Foreign Ministry's director of intra-regional cooperation for America and Europe, Dian Wirengjurit, said.

The conference will be focusing on three main objects namely training and employment, labor migration and social protection, Antara news agency quoted Wirengjurit as saying.

The ASEM - LEMC II will carry the theme "More and Better Jobs, Strengthening Partnership to Take Advantage of the Global Labor Market For More Decent Employment, " he said on Friday.

The forum is a continuation of the first ASEM - LEMC in Postdam, Germany, which set up a globalization team. The aim of ASEM - LEM II is to take joint benefits from the experiences of the ASEM member countries.

In preparations for the meeting, Indonesia has held a preparatory meeting in Yogyakarta on September 12-13, 2007. It has also held a symposium on ASEM II in Bandung, West Java, on April 10-11, 2008. These meetings produced several recommendations for the holding of ASEM - LEMC II.

The meeting in the Indonesian resort island Bali will be attended by 34 ASEM partners.

Representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO), World Bank, IOM and Asian Development Bank (ADB) had also been invited.
