U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has named his longtime spokesman Robert Gibbs as his White House press secretary, Obama's transition office said in a statement on Saturday.
Gibbs has been spokesman for Obama when the latter was running 2008 presidential campaign. He won a reputation as a rapid rebuttal specialist while also advising Obama on key strategic matters.
