An Iraqi civilian was killed and 10 others were wounded by a car bomb and roadside bomb explosions in Baghdad on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said.
A civilian was killed and five others were injured when a booby- trapped car parked near a popular marketplace detonated shortly before midday in the Shiite neighborhood of Hurriya in northern Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The powerful blast caused damages to several shops, stalls and civilian cars, the source said.
In a separate incident, two policemen and three civilians were injured by a roadside bomb explosion near a police patrol in Baghdad southeastern neighborhood of Fdhiliyah.
The blast also damaged one of the police patrol vehicle and several nearby civilian cars, he added.
Violence continues in Baghdad despite the announcement of the U.S. and Iraqi officials about a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife in the capital
