Two bodies were found Wednesday in a building in downtown Tokyo's Shibuya Ward after an explosion and subsequent fire, Kyodo News Agency said.
Police said two other people sustained injuries in the incident, according to Kyodo.
The explosion took place at around 12:30 p.m. (0330 GMT) in the three-story building where explosives for movie shooting were apparently handled, according to firefighters.
The neighborhood is a mixture of residential and commercial buildings.
The report does not say how the explosion started.
