The third Chinese Education Exhibition was inaugurated in Dhaka on Tuesday with 19 universities from mainland China to attend.

Wu Liansheng, head of Chinese Education Exhibition delegation and deputy secretary general of China Scholarship Council, said at the inauguration ceremony that Bangladeshi people will be able to gain a better understanding of Chinese higher education through the exhibition.

Wu said nowadays more and more foreign students come to study in China, which shows that the quality of Chinese higher education is being gradually recognized by more and more countries.

He believed the exhibition will further strengthen the education cooperation and exchange between China and Bangladesh.

Masud Mannan, chief guest and director general of International Department of Bangladeshi Foreign Affairs Ministry, said at the function that China's education is developing very fast, many universities in China not only have first-level education quality, but also have first-level facilities.

He encouraged Bangladeshi students to study in China and contribute their knowledge they get in China to the economic development of Bangladesh.

The Chinese Education Exhibition is to attract those people who like to study in China at their own expenses. Some exhibitors said the best performing student can get scholarship from the provincial government.

Most of the visitors to the exhibition were interested in learning medicine and trade in China. Osman Gani Mansur told Xinhua at the exhibition his daughter was studying in an Indian high school. Mansur said he wanted to send his daughter to study medicine in China after graduation from the high school next year.
