Zhang Yongsheng has become another Chinese painter to display his works at the DEVNET Pavilion at Expo Garden.

UN DEVNET General Director Daniel Barrion and Gao Guoqiang, chief representative of the DEVNET Pavilion, visited the show, saying that the artworks will be an attraction for visitors.

Zhang's paintings reflect a green and harmonious concept that aims to combine mankind with the environment and nature, said Huang Pengren, one of China's top 10 planners.

"His works have been widely praised by visitors from home and abroad, including painters and calligraphers," said Huang, adding that Brunei, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong have invited him to display his works after the Expo.

Zhang, born in Hunan in 1940, is a professor at the Zhejiang Fine Arts Academy. The paintings he created in the 1960s were published in newspapers such as People's Daily, Zhejiang Daily and Rural Youth. Some works have been collected by Rongbaozhai Art Gallery, Tianjin Museum and the Datong Cultural Center.

He has devoted his energy to studying Chinese paintings, calligraphy and seal cutting for decades to create an artistic style all his own. His works have been exhibited in Japan's Osaka and Kobe.
