A Medellin undertaker has taken his craft to the next level by launching a "ghostly census" in Colombia's second-largest city, where his workers have so far compiled 215 spirits, 23 in pictures and videos.

"It's beyond question that many of the city's buildings and homes have ghosts. For years, we've heard stories about them and we thought the time had come to approach, catalog and classify them through a census," William Betancur told AFP.

哥伦比亚殡仪馆开展鬼魂普查

       梅德林是哥伦比亚第二大城市。该市一家殡仪馆近日开拓了一项新业务——给鬼魂做人口普查。目前的统计结果是，梅德林市共有215个鬼魂，其中23个还有照片和视频作证。

       殡仪馆老板威廉说，梅德林市很多建筑物里都有鬼魂，这一点毋庸置疑。殡仪馆常和死人打交道，因此能听到很多鬼魂的故事，他认为殡仪馆行业有义务对市内的鬼魂进行寻访、分类和登记。

       这次梅德林市的鬼魂普查工作于几周前正式开始。威廉派出四个工作人员，身着统一制服，到该市各建筑物中寻访。到目前为止，共发现鬼魂215个。

       另外，鬼魂普查的大门也向公众敞开，任何人都可以通过邮件和电话向威廉举报。但举报者要说明鬼魂出现的方式，比如有奇怪的声音，有闪烁的灯光，或者有模糊的影子，好帮助威廉进行分类。

       鬼魂普查工作现在开展得如火如荼。威廉说，他每天都会接到全国各地和世界其他地方打来的电话，有些人要求帮他们测试鬼魂和它所在的建筑物的关系，还有人向他兜售高科技鬼魂探测仪器。

       威廉对鬼魂普查有很长远的规划，他计划花一年时间进行调查，然后可能把调查过程拍成纪录片。他说，他养的狗死掉之后，他突然产生了调查鬼魂的念头，因为他强烈地感觉到，那只狗死去四个月后还在绕着房子跑圈。
