A Chinese farmer in Sichuan province has found two black bear cubs lying abandoned in a woodland area near his farm.
These two Asian black bear cubs were once lost and alone in the woods, but now they're beloved members of the Tian family. Tian Shougui, a farmer in Sichuan province, found the cubs two weeks ago in the forest. He could not just walk away from the crying couple of cubs and decided to bring them home, naming them both Xiong Xiong.
Emaciated and tired, the pair could hardly walk when first brought home.
But Tian and his wife have been nursing them back to health and the pair are now comfortable in the family home. They even sleep indoors.
Tian said, "I wants to raise the pair until I feel they are able to fend for themselves in the wild."
Tian wants to keep the cubs and raise them himself before setting them loose in the wild. But, local wildlife experts say raising the protected species alone is not a good idea and are trying to come up with an alternative.
