A semi-truck heading from Bakersfield, California to North Dakota on Sunday crashed off the shoulder and released more than 14 million bees and a torrent of honey, the Daily Mail reported.

Fire crews first tried to cool down the bees by spraying them with water. A bee expert then suggested using fire foam kill them so the workers could get near the truck to clean up the mess and recover the vehicle and surviving hives.

In addition to worrying about stings, the clean-up crew feared bears would come for the honey.

A number of the firemen were stung in the first few hours of the clean-up operation, but there were no serious injuries.

Crews worked all day Monday to remove all the honey from the roadway, though deputies said a significant number of bees were still buzzing.（点击英国《每日邮报》查看原文）

货车事故 蜜蜂漫天飞
