The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) leads scientific research among China's universities by publishing 17 research articles in Nature-branded primary research journals in 2011, according to the magazine's annual Publishing Index released on May 24. [File photo]

The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) leads scientific research among China's universities by publishing 17 research articles in Nature-branded primary research journals in 2011, according to the magazine's annual Publishing Index released on May 24.

USTC ranked 76th among the global top 100, while another Chinese university, Peking University ranked 94th.

According to the Nature Publishing Index 2011 China, the top 10 Chinese institutions by scientific research contribution are: the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Peking University, Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Xiamen University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), the University of Hong Kong (HKU), Nanjing University and BGI Shenzhen.

《自然》杂志24日发布的年度报告显示,中国科学技术大学过去一年在《自然》及其子刊共发表论文17篇,跃升至中国高校榜首。

在全球排名前100名中,仅有两所中国高校入列,中科大位列全球第76位,北京大学居第94位。

根据《自然出版指数2011中国》,2011年中国十大科研机构排名为:中国科学院、中国科学技术大学、北京大学、清华大学、香港科技大学、厦门大学、上海交通大学、香港大学、南京大学和深圳华大基因。
