Board game, a content-rich social game introduced from Europe and the United States, has recently gained increasing popularity among white-collar workers in Nanchang of east China's Jiangxi Province.

The provincial news website "jxnews.com.cn" reported Tuesday that quite a few local well-paid working staffs opt to play board games after work, an alternative lifestyle against lingering over computer all the time.

Meanwhile, board games will test players' thinking power, reasoning ability and cooperative communication, as well as enhance entertainment via people-to-people exchanges, according to the boss of a Nanchang game club. The boss said he is optimistic about the future in development of board games that vary from the subjects of warfare, trade, history to art, culture and city construction.

"Jxnews.com.cn" reported board game originated in Germany and is an interactive brain game that highlights the realization of a goal by making full use of limited resources.

The game varieties exceed 3,000 and it usually revolves around a detailed story that makes involved players hold gracefully-made cards and props.
