Beijing to Host Grand Walk to Mark Olympic Countdown
Adjust font size:

Beijing will host "We Walk to 2008", a grand event designed to mark the countdown to the 2008 Olympics on March 25th.

The 18-kilometer walk will take place in Chaoyang Park and participants will walk around five circular paths designed to represent the five Olympic rings.

When participants finish walking each circular path, they will receive a ribbon in the same color as the Olympic ring the path symbolizes. People who finish the entire circuit will receive a certificate and an Olympic wrist band designed for the Games' volunteers.

The City Youth League organized the event in conjunction with other Beijing government departments. Participants will have to pay a 20 yuan fee to sign up for the event. All proceeds will be donated to "The Hope Project". The number of participants will be limited to less than 5000.
