People who fancy the recently unveiled 2008 Olympic torch can
now buy souvenir bricks issued to celebrate its release.
A saleswoman displays the
souvenir bricks celebrating the Beijing 2008 Olympics Torch
Relay.
The China Golden Coin Incorporation unveiled the design of the
souvenir bricks to the world on Sunday. The bricks have been
approved by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG).
Two series of the limited edition souvenir bricks are available:
pure gold bricks and silver bricks with golden binding.
The bricks celebrate traditional Chinese culture as well as the
Olympic spirit, with engravings of Beijing's Temple of Heaven and
the emblem of the 2008 Olympics, the Chinese Seal.
The 2008 Olympic torch is engraved on the back of the
bricks.
People will soon be able to place orders for the bricks at
designated stores.
