Ten Olympics-bound Cuban boxers will travel on Friday to Ukraine to compete in an international tournament as part of their training, local press informed Thursday.
The Cuban delegation is formed by Yampier Hernandez (48kg), Andry Laffita (51), Yankiel Leon (54), Idel Torriente (51), Yordenis Ugas (60), Rosniel Iglesias (64), Carlos Banteur (69), Emilio Correa (75), Osmay Acosta (91) and Roberto Alfonso (more than 91).
After the competition in Ukraine, Cuban boxers will return to Havana to continue their training and later they will do other travels.
The Olympic boxing tournament is scheduled for Aug. 9 to 24.
In this competition will participate 286 boxers, with Russia being the only country with a full team of 11 members, followed by Cuba, Morocco, China and Kazakhstan (10 each) and France, United Sates and Australia (9 each).
