The final of the women's 55kg freestyle of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Junior World Wrestling Championships was held today as China's Qiu Hongmei beat Ekaterina Krasnova of Russia with a 2-0 victory. "To earn one more gold for China and have our national flag raised again was my objective," said Qiu Hongmei after the match.

Today the China Agricultural University Stadium was packed, when Qiu Hongmei won the 55kg freestyle gold with two straight wins of 7-0 and 5-3. Atanding on the victor's podium, the shy Chinese girl smiled and her face was covered with sweat.

After the victory ceremony Qiu Hongmei said she did not have too much pressure before the competition. "Prior to the match, my coach had analyzed the strength of my opponent with me, so I did not think too much but competed with our set tacticas."

Yesterday, Li Songni won China's first gold in the 59kg, which greatly boosted the morale of the host team.
