The Team Nigeria's sole representative in the judo event at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Vivian Yusuf, is to embark on a four-nation training tour, an official with the Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) said Wednesday.
Yusuf was billed to depart from Lagos on Tuesday to continue an overseas training program.
Esther Aluko, the Secretary General of Nigeria Judo Federation, disclosed the details of the training program, while speaking on a local radio station, 88.9 Brila FM.
She said the four nation tour was courtesy of African Judo Federation (AJF) and International Judo Federation (IJF), with a verdict that it is what the 73 kilograms fighter has worked for.
"The tour was meant to provide an ideal training program for the top two judokas to prepare for the Olympics. Vivian Yusuf happened to be one of them," she said.
According to her, the fighter had some experience of training in Casablanca, then to Agadir for the 28th African Championship.
Vivian has been in top form since and should be able to make the best of the latest program, which will see her move from Morocco to France, Portugal and Japan, before finally moving to China for the Olympics.
The Judo scribe praised the youngster and expresses her confidence in the 73kg class women reigning champion to do Nigeria proud at the Olympics.
