Six or seven women's teams have the strength to win the Beijing Olympics hockey tournament, said Australia coach Frank Murray on Wednesday.
Setting their goal at the gold, Murray said it's possible because they prepared well, and they would play to their maximum.
"There are six or seven teams that can win. Besides us, they are the Netherlands, South Korea, Argentina, Germany, China, and even Japan could win," Frank told Xinhua at the training course.
"They are very close. South Korea and the Netherlands are the favorites, and there's no much difference," he added.
Clinching two consecutive gold medals at Atlanta and Sydney Olympics, the Aussies, whose dream for the third straight gold at Athens was dashed by the Germans, are hoping for a comeback in Beijing.
The Australians arrived in Beijing on Monday, and have already trained twice in the Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
Murray coached the Australian men's team at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and led the women's team to gold in 2000 Sydney Olympics. This is his fourth Olympic tour.
"The girls all think me too old," the 57-year-old man laughed, noting it all depends whether he continues his coaching career.
