Women's World Cup champion Germany arrived at Shenyang Thursday afternoon for the Olympic Games.
Among the 18 players, 16 played in last year's World Cup including FIFA World Player of the Year Birgit Prinz and midfielder Bettina Wiegmann.
Germany was drawn in the Group of Death, which also consists of Nigeria, Asian champion DPRK and Brazil.
They will open their Olympic campaign against Brazil here on August 6. Germany beat the South American side in last year's World Cup final.
The German women will next play DPRK here and then move to Tianjin to play Nigeria.
Germany, who has twice won the bronze medal in the Olympic Games, are twice World Cup holders and six-time European championship winners.
In the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, they humiliated China 8-0.
