The Australian rowing team, the only team to compete in all the 14 rowing events at the Beijing Olympics, has set a target of winning four to six medals in Shunyi Olympic Canoeing/Kayaking Park late this month.
"We want to get four to six medals. We know it is very hard, but we can try," assistant manager of the Australian team Edan Dakman told Xinhua outside the boathouse in the park on Monday afternoon.
"Women's scull, lightweight double and women's double are our favorite events," he said.
He also said that China, Britain, Germany, the United States and New Zealand also had very strong teams and they were the main challenges to the Autstralians during the Beijing Olympics.
"We have made very good preparations at home. You know, we do not have to do much to get accustomed to the Beijing time and the weather here because ours are similar," he added.
Meanwhile, Dakman said that the Australian team has some "secret things" that might make a difference during the races.
The Australian rowers won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at 2004 Athens Olympics.
