The United States wrapped up Olympic warm-up trips in China by beating Australia 87-76 on Tuesday here.
The Americans beat Turkey, Lithuania and Russia in previous games, all by clear margins.
Head coach Mike Krzyzewski was not happy with the final victory.
"We didn't have good performance tonight. I wouldn't say no good efforts. Our players were trying really hard and they wanted to win. But we didn't play well," he said.
Australia led in most of the first half and closed it in the third quarter after the US drilled it away by as many as a 16-point gap.
"I'm really proud of my team. We improve on every game," Australian coach Brian Goorjian said.
Dwyane Wade led the US with 22 points while LeBron James contributing 16 pints, five steals, four assists and three blocks in an all-around match.
Five Australians scored in double-digit numbers with Patrick Mills and Chris Anstey came up from the bench to score 13 apiece.
Australia took an early lead and hung onto 17-16 before Wade's fast break put the US ahead with1:17 minutes left in the first quarter.
James scored 10 points in a 20-6 run to lead it by 44-29 in the first half, but witnessing it being cut off in less than four minutes when Australia made it 48-44 in the third quarter.
The US failed to take the control of the game until Wade initiated a 13-4 run with a layup midway in the fourth quarter to make it 84-68.
Australia played without starting center Andrew Bogut, who was recovering from a sprained ankle sustained at the Diamond Cup tournament at Nanjing last week.
