An unforgettable night in Beijing
Adjust font size:
We knew that Wangfujing was one of the outdoor viewing sites, so we then went there. We finally saw big screens we were sure were showing the ceremonies. After six hours of running around Beijing, we were tired, cranky, hungry and hot. We decided we were not very interested in standing outside for the next five hours watching the ceremonies.

We knew that restaurants are usually good places to see events and we knew that the Hard Rock Café had televisions all throughout the restaurant. We found their number and called to make sure they were playing the opening ceremonies. We were relieved to find out that they were and we were more than welcome to go there and watch.
We arrived at 7:30pm, just in time to grab a table and watch the very beginning of what would be a most impressive opening ceremony.
The atmosphere at the Hard Rock Café was amazing. There was a wide mix of people from China, the United States, Spain, and even different parts of Africa. This was definitely the right places to be.
After ordering our meals, we intently watched the beautiful dances, remarkable singing, and cool special effects. There wasn't a minute of down time during these ceremonies. The 15,000 performers took our breath away as they performed the difficult and precise choreography.
