Located in the warm temperate zone, Tianjin has sub-humid continental monsoon climate. The four seasons are clearly cut, which results in a great difference in temperature and a wide variety of sceneries throughout the year. The average temperature in a year tops 12.3¡æand the frost-free period lasts about 200 days. On the average, the annual precipitation is about 400 mm, 75% of which is concentrated in June, July and August. The sunshine time in the city is relatively long. The total area of the city is 11,900 km2, 189 km long from south to north and 117 km wide from east to west. The city proper covers an area of 7,418 km2, and the rural area covers 4,502 km2 . The circumference of the whole city is about 900 km, including a coastline of 152.8 km and a land line of over 700 km. (enorth.com.cn)
