IOC delegation in HK for two-day visit

About 20 members of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Coordination Commission and of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) arrived in Hong Kong on Sunday for a two-day visit.

The IOC delegation, headed by the Chairman of the IOC's Coordination Commission for the Beijing Games Hein Verbruggen, was briefed by Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing on Hong Kong's plan to promote the Olympic spirit and the community involvement activities, and the city dress-up that will be carried out along the two fronts of world-famous Victoria Harbor during a tour of the harbor on Sunday night.

The delegation was shown part of the dress-up program promoting Olympic messages in Hong Kong, which is a co-host city of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The IOC delegation will tour around on Monday the Olympic Village accommodation facilities and equestrian venues in Sha Tin and Sheung Shui in the New Territories, where the Beijing 2008 Olympic and the Paralympic Games equestrian events will be held.
