China National Acrobatic Troupe will put on 70 shows in Beijing
between July 4 to August 31 next year to mark the Olympic Games.
The troupe will perform their latest work, "Splendid" at the
Baoli Theatre, according to a press release issued by the
troupe.
"We are expecting more foreigners to watch our performances and
learn about Chinese culture during their stay for the Olympics,"
the statement said.
The 90-minute acrobatic drama consists of 13 of the troupe's
best programs, half of which have won international prizes. One of
the programs "Diabolo" won the French Republic President Award at
the 26th Tomorrow Circus Festival in France in 2005.
The show is also unique as the stage design combines modern
audio and video technology with symbols of ancient Chinese culture
such as traditional paintings drawn with Chinese ink and ancient
poems written in calligraphy, the statement said.
