Germany has sold all its 30,000 tickets for the Beijing Olympics in record time, travel company Dertour, which handles Olympic tickets in Germany, said in Berlin on Wednesday.
"The demand was huge. We have sold all tickets for the German market before the Games start. That has never happened before," said Dertour managing director Michael Frese.
Dertour expects a turnover of 13 million euros (around 20.4 million U.S. dollars) from its exclusive sales of tickets for the August 8-24 Games.
Dertour offered tickets plus Beijing travel arrangements as well as 14 packages around the Games, according to Frese.
Frese said that 4,000 of the registered 7,200 German Olympic visitors had ordered only tickets, with prices cheap by German standard ranging from five euros for a field hockey group match to 108 euros for athletics finals.
The ticket prices for the opening and closing ceremonies are 108-587 euros in Germany.
