President of the Uruguayan Olympic Committee (COU) Julio Cesar Maglione said Tuesday that China "will organize the best Olympic Games of the history."
During the presentation of a series of stamps in commemoration of the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008, Maglione said that "China will host what without questions will be the best Olympic Games of the history."
"We trust that the Games will be celebrated in a climate of peace and brotherhood, and not to be used for aims against the Olympics," Maglione said.
The presentation ceremony of the stamps was hold in the headquarters of the COU and Chinese ambassador to Uruguay Li Zhongliang also attended the ceremony.
President of the National Administration of Post offices Maria Cristina Gonzalez said that the stamps are "inspired in the five mascots of the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008."
Gonzalez also said that the philately and the sports have been in "permanent union" because "both aim to the peace, the universality and the development of the People's."
Uruguay will compete with 12 sportsmen during the Beijing Olympic Games in athletics, cycling, swimming, rowing, archery and sailing.
