HK chief to attend opening ceremony of Olympic Games

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Donald Tsang will leave for Beijing next Thursday to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games the following day.

According to a bulletin released by Hong Kong news services department Saturday, Tsang will leave for Beijing on Aug. 7 and return to Hong Kong on Aug. 10. During his absence, Chief Secretary for Administration Henry Tang will be the acting Chief Executive.
