Jordan's Olympics head HRH Prince Feisal said the Olympic Games has helped China open up further and he believes the Chinese organizers will present a unique and spectacular spectacle.
The prince made the remarks before Jordan's Olympic delegation departed for Beijing on Monday.
"The Organizing Committee for the Beijing Olympic Games has worked tirelessly over the past years to ensure China will be ready to host the biggest show on earth," local daily Jordan Times Monday quoted Feisal as saying.
"The Olympics is a celebration of humanity. It is one of the few occasions that every culture, race, creed and religion comes together. China will be no exception. It will be a memorable occasion for the world that we can all be a part of," he added.
The prince also extended good wish to Chinese athletes, saying that "China has become a powerful sporting nation and I wish them well for the upcoming Olympic Games."
Jordan sends a delegation of seven athletes to Beijing, three of whom met Olympic qualifying standard while the others were given wild cards.
The athletes are Zeina Shaban (table tennis), Razan Fareed ( swimming), Anas Hamoudeh (swimming), Khalil Hanahneh (athletics), Bara' Marwan (athletics), Nadeen Dwani (taekwondo) and Ibrahim Bisharat (equestrian).
The Beijing Games will take place from August 8 to 24, with approximately 10,500 athletes taking part.
