Argentine former soccer player Diego Maradona on Wednesday said that he wished to go to Beijing to watch the finals of men's soccer and basketball, in case Argentine teams in both sports advance in the Olympic competition.

"Argentina has few possibilities of medals" in other sports, Maradona said during a press conference in the city of San Juan, 1,119km from Buenos Aires, where he will play a showbal match against Chile.

Maradona also said that he is "great" after have passed "very hard moments" for his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

"I had very hard moments, but now I wake up every morning lucid and willing to call my daughters. I'm great," Maradona said.

"When I was bad, I was ashamed of going out to the street; but today I'm fine and is thanks to them," Maradona said referring to his daughters Dalma Nerea and Giannina Dinorah.

Maradona also said that he wishes his grandchild to be "a boy" when he confirmed that her daughter Giannina will have a baby with the soccer player of the Atletico de Madrid club Sergio "Kun" Aguero.
