The official Chinese insurance partner of the Beijing Olympics said it had received more than 1,000 Games-related injury cases by Saturday. No serious cases were reported.

More than 90 percent of the cases were slight injuries such as scrapes which could be handled easily on the spot, said Ding Yunzhou, vice president of People's Insurance Company of China (PICC), the parent company of the Olympics partner PICC Property and Casualty Co. Ltd.(PICC P&C).

He said there were no cases of serious human injuries or severe vehicle damage. For those rare cases involving in-hospital treatment, PICC staff offered one-to-one service and paid for the treatment upon the recovery of the injured.

According to Ding, Games-related service covers 150,000 people and 8,000 vehicles.

PICC P&C is the largest non-life insurer in China.
