Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday hailed the just-concluded Beijing Olympic Games as "the best Olympic Games in history."
Speaking on his regular Sunday TV and radio program "Hello President," Chavez praised the "perfect" organization of the Games, saying it showed the "miraculous" advances China has achieved.
He said "Chinese people are happy, millions of Chinese went to the streets and venues."
He also lauded the performance of Venezuelan athletes during the Games, saying they "have made Venezuela big to the eyes of the world. They wrote history and we will continue supporting them."
Venezuela sent a delegation of 109 athletes to the Beijing Olympics, almost double the number it sent to Athens in 2004 and Sydney in 2000.
