The dailies of Mexico City praised on Monday the perfect organization of the 29th Olympic Games of Beijing and they hailed the absolute victory of China over the United Sates on gold medals.
Daily Reforma said that "with an amazing ceremony the Olympic Games finished, and for the first time China is in the first place of the medal table."
Reforma's reporter Alejandro Pena said that the Olympics of Beijing "weere perfect (and) glared the world for 16 days (...) The Games of Beijing will be remembered as the most praised ones of all the history."
In daily Excelsior, TV commentator Gerardo Liceaga said at his article on sports supplement "Adrenalina" that Olympic Games of Beijing constituted a "before and after", nothing will be the same on the future competitions.
"I'd dare to say that we begging to count as consecutive the success at the medal table, as it was done before by U.S. The red machine is going and with free road, the Asian giant finished waking up," Liceaga said.
The Games "were simply wonderful. The facilities were unsurpassable, the organization a model of efficiency, with a great transportation with adequate information and high-level computing systems. Nothing escaped from the Organization Committee," Liceaga said.
At Milenio daily, Commentator Gerardo Vazquez de Leon said that Beijing 2008 was "the best Olympic edition of all the times."
Never before so many audience was before the TV: 4.4 billion people watched the competitions by TV.
Vazquez said that the President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge did not want to compromise himself towards the past or the future, with his affirmation of Beijing Games were "exceptional".
Carlos Contreras also from Milenio said that England faces "a huge challenge for London, which has four years to work or simply admit that it is not possible to surpass the Chinese economic and social device."
Daily El Sol de Mexico said that "Beijing 2008 left a great challenge, which it is not impossible to surpass if the respect, peace and over all the olympic spirit are taken as the base."
In daily La Cronica, Alfredo Dominguez Muro said at his column Palco Deprtivo that "we have imagined great the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008."
"The reality, like in the best movies or novels, always surpasses the imagination and Beijing, with it facilities, its Olympic Village, its order, its logistic, surpassed everything, but even more at the trails, the swimming pools and the fields," Dominguez said.
Also in La Cronica, Enrique Albores said that the Olympic Games of Beijing had a "spectacular final." "It was a presentation to the world of a great China and an Asian continent in all the senses," Albores said.
Albores added that "the host won the biggest number of gold medals (51) and it displaced U.S. (36)."
