Olympic football team updates roster
Adjust font size:

China's Olympic football team head coach Ratomir Dujkovic has updated a 26-player roster for an upcoming training camp in Europe. Former captain Feng Xiaoting was not enrolled.

Dong Fangzhuo, who plays for the England Premier League champions Manchester United, was not admitted either. Both men were entered on the five-man substitute list.

Dujkovic said the 26 players will be the backbone of the squad participating in the Beijing Olympic Games, and his major work in coming months will focus on the composition of the starting line-up.

Four players who took part in the team's three warm-up matches, two against the US Olympic team and one against the youth string of German Bundesliga side Cottbus, were dismissed for poor performance.

Shandong Luneng's promising attacker Cui Peng was also denied entry for an earlier drunk driving offense.
