On May twentieth, the flame will arrive at China's financial hub, Shanghai. The city is famed for its ability to organize large-scale events, but authorities have spared no efforts to prepare for the relay.
A Shanghai local gov't official said, "We have made very detailed plans for the Olympic torch relay. The flame will pass along typically Shanghai-style roads, such as the Bund."
In late May, the flame will arrive in east China's Anhui Province. Five cities in the province will host the torch relay.
Local official of Anhui Prov. said, "First we will ensure traffic flows smoothly along the route of the torch relay. Second, we are training torchbearers in the province to BOCOG standards. Third, the five cities participating in the torch relay will show the world their special culture and their economic achievements."
