The Good Luck Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming Qualification Tournament opened at the National Aquatics Center on Wednesday.
Strong teams include Athens Olympic runners-up Japan, Spain and Canada, who all sent their best athletes, as the remaining three team tickets for Beijing Olympics go to the top three teams of this tournament. China, as the host team, have qualified for the Games already, so no Chinese swimmers will compete in the team event. But twins Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting will take part in the duet as pre-Olympic training. Their results will not be counted in the final rankings.
