South Africa praises Beijing's preparations for Olympics

South Africa is planning to attend the Beijing Olympic Games in August with one of its largest ever, contingent of delegates -- over 200 athletes, coaches and staff.

The president of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, Moss Mashishi, has praised Beijing's preparations for the coming event.

Many athletes in South Africa say they expect the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing will be one of the most exciting theaters of sports in the world.

And the SASCOC president says he is confident the event will be a great success due to China's great efforts.

South Africa is scheduled to host the 2010 World Cup. Officials say they will use the Beijing experience as preparation for the event. Especially in the areas of pollution control and environmental protection.
