BIMC to cater unaccredited reporters
Adjust font size:

Among the thousands of sports reporters and broadcasters covering the Beijing Olympics, there will be a large group of journalists focusing their work on China itself. The 2008 Beijing International Media Center has been set up to cater to the needs of these unaccredited reporters.

Located two kilometers from the Main Press Center, the BIMC will be the home for the over five thousand unaccredited reporters expected during the Olympics.

The BIMC will host two or three press conferences every day. The journalists can receive news about China and Beijing in addition to information about the Olympic Games.

Cui Yaozhong, Director of Service Center of BIMC said "The focus of the unaccredited reporters is different. They mainly focus on some hot issues, such as environmental protection, security, traffic support and so on. We will invite the relevant professionals to communicate with the journalists face to face. We are preparing a lot of material to facilitate their reporting and will try our best not to refuse their requests."
